Fiat has launched what it says is its first ever Waze car and the Panda Waze even has Waze as part of its name to appeal to the digitally savvy generation. Fiat is positioning the car as one that is a more connected, social-media-minded variant of the its popular Panda model. The Panda Waze is the first model to sport the Waze name. Externally, it looks a lot like the Panda Cross, but when it comes to the interiors, it is a different story with many new featuresthat make it different from the standard Fiat Panda.
A motorist who buys the Panda Waze benefits a smoother, more seamless driving experience as Fiat has integrated the Waze satellite navigation app as part of its very own Uconnect infotainment app. Motorists will no longer need to switch between Waze and Uconnect, and both can be used simultaneously. They will be able to continue to use Uconnect while the directions remain in the foreground with other features shuffled back.
The Panda Waze several other attractive features including 15-inch alloy wheels, steering wheel stereo controls and six airbags. The price has not yet been announced and the vehicle will be powered by a 68bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine.
Other infotainment features in the Panda Waze include Bluetooth, voice recognition and the ability to play MP3s from a USB stick. The Fiat Panda Waze might well prove to be a trendsetter when it comes to its names as many more automotive manufacturers engage in collaborations with technological companies.
