DENSO Corp. and Toyota Tsusho Corp. have recently entered into a joint venture in Bangkok, Thailand. The new firm, Toyota Tsusho DENSO Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., intends to kick off development of software in July this year to help boost the efficiency of engine electronic control unit development.
It has been challenging to enhance efficiency when developing software utilized in engine ECUs because, as the control of powertrains becomes increasingly complicated, the development scale expands accordingly. The joint venture will employ models in all stages of software development, including control-program development, design and verification.
In addition, to be capable of supporting a huge array of ECUs to be developed, the new company will standardize software and enhance development efficiency and speed.
The new joint venture company will headed by Hideya Ito as president.
