Cummins’ powerful ISL9 engine has recently found its way to two of International Truck’s popular models: DuraStar and WorkStar.
In a statement, Bill Kozek, president, Truck and Parts, said that adding the Cummins ISL9 to their lineup is a core part of their strategy to offer the most complete options of proven components in the industry to their customers. He noted that the addition of the engine to their DuraStar and WorkStar models offers customers a winning combination of durability, performance and uptime.
The Cummins ISL9-liter engine now expands the robust powertrain options of the DuraStar and WorkStar models. Cranking out up to 380 horsepower and 1250 lb.-ft. of torque, it features flexible horsepower and torque ratings for medium-duty and vocational applications.
Kozek continued that Cummins and International have worked closely together to engineer the ISL9 in the two truck models—offering a unique value package combination of reliability and performance. He added that with the engine’s roll out, they continue to focus on meeting the needs of their customers by delivering advanced, best-in-class products for wide-ranging applications.
The DuraStar and WorkStar equipped with Cummins ISL9 are now available for order and are slated for production this summer.
