Brembo has ventured into Formula E racing through a partnership with Spark Racing Technology (SRT). Brembo has signed a three year deal to serve as the exclusive supplier of chassis for the fifth, sixth and seventh seasons of the Formula E Championship for the SRT team.
Brembo will supply the entire braking system, including carbon pads and rotors for the SRT team. Commenting on the achievement, Alberto Bombassei, chairman of Brembo said that the agreement highlights Brembo’s strong and continued commitment to racing and R&D and the company will work closely with SRT on the development and production of the system SRT selects.
He went on to add that Brembo has always focused on continuous innovation and Spark’s single-seater for the FIA Formula E series will serve as a ‘mobile lab’ for the development of technology applied to the electric car. The electric car is fast emerging as the future of the automotive sector. He concluded by saying that Brembo shared and supported FIA’s vision and commitment with regard to the sustainability of motorsports and road safety.
