Bosch has a new addition to its OE Fine Wire Spark Plug series: the Bosch Double Iridium.
Tim Stumpff, senior product manager, Robert Bosch LLC, Automotive Aftermarket NA said in a statement that the new Bosch Double Iridium Spark Plug embodies the newest and best in OE fine wire technology. He explained that its ultra-fine wire design and laser-welded tapered ground electrode enable the delivery of enhanced performance, while the iridium firing pin and ground electrode inlay has four times longer service life compared to standard copper core plugs.
The all-new Bosch Double Iridium Spark Plug features an exceptional design using an iridium center electrode tip and iridium-platinum alloy ground electrode inlay to create an accurate spark. It also has double iridium firing pin and ground electrode pin and its exclusive 360° continuous laser weld fuses corrosion-resistant precious metal firing pin to base. What’s more, its OE-matched spark position for compatibility with the new GDI technology.
Boasting OE form, fit and function, the new spark plug meets or even surpasses manufacturer design requirements for new gasoline engines. With no gapping and anti-seize required, it enables faster installation and prevents corrosion.
