Axalta has crossed the milestone of 17000 branded daylight lamps which are used in bodyshops across the globe to help technicians perform their jobs with greater efficiency. The The company which is a leading global manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings, and is an industry leader in Digital Colour Management in the refinish industry leader in continues to maintain its emphasis on innovation as part of its drive to meet the needs of customers. Axalta had launched these lamps in 2015 and took only three years to achieve this milestone.
In line with Axalta’s proven innovation leadership position in digital colour management, the LED daylight lamps are meant to make the entire automotive paint repair process faster, easier, and more reliable. The lights have been designed to simulate differing light conditions and intensities. They are available across the world from Axalta’s portfolio of refinish brands. In Asia, the daylight lamp is branded as Color Inspector.
Dr. Martin Wulf, Colour and Technical Manager for Axalta’s Refinish Systems business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said that the modern, energy-saving LED-technology that is used in the daylight lamps ensures that refinishers are able to perform their work with the best lighting conditions, and this can play a key role in achieving right-first-time results. The lamps can simulate six different levels of ambient light and can hence be used throughout the whole refinish process, which can involve steps ranging from damage appraisals and checking colour matches, to examining freshly painted surfaces for coverage and hiding issues. The technology makes it possible for Axalta’s refinishers to operate in the best possible lighting conditions.
Due to the smart arrangement of energy-saving LED bulbs in these daylight lamps, they have the capacity to represent both bright natural daylight and the lower level of light that is available around sunset. Both of these are important when checking colour, especially for metamerism.
“The convenient wireless operation of the lamps, powerful batteries, and ergonomic handling make them an invaluable cost- and time-saving tool for the professional bodyshop, and this is tangibly evident in the 17,000 of them in the market,” said Wulf.
Fadi Medlej, Managing Director, Axalta MENA said that the company’s Auto Refinish Training & Development Centre in Dubai which was opened in 2017 is an industry-leading facility. It is equipped with facilities to use the latest coating technologies that can be used to enhance customer satisfaction. Axalta’s innovative daylight lamps have been used within the Dubai refinish center and at the bodyshops of the company’s clients and hence customers would be able to save time and benefit from better standards of quality.
The Centre will enable customers to maximize their use of these products which can reduce the time and energy needed to repaint vehicles.
