Just recently, AllGo Embedded Systems, a premier supplier of embedded multimedia and connectivity solutions to giant automotive OEMs and Tier 1 customers, has penned a definitive deal to sell its automotive business and become a 100 percent owned subsidiary of Visteon Corp., a renowned global supplier of automotive cockpit electronics.
The transaction terms were not disclosed. Closing is subject to satisfaction of specific customary conditions, including Indian regulatory approval, and is anticipated in the first quarter of this year. AllGoVision, the company’s Video Analytics business unit, is not included in the transaction and will be spun off to operate as an independent company.
From its headquarters in Bangalore, India, AllGo Systems supplies advanced infotainment media playback and connectivity solutions as well as brings Android and Linux engineering expertise for automotive applications, including a complete intellectual property (IP)-protected portfolio of in-vehicle infotainment, connectivity and media solutions for the connected display audio market.
In a statement, K. Srinivasan, director and CEO, AllGo Systems, said that they are looking forward to joining Visteon at this exciting time in the company’s growth in the connected technology arena. He claimed that with their production-proven middleware and Visteon’s expertise in automotive infotainment solutions, the two companies have a strong strategic fit that would enable them to expand their global market share in the connected display radio market.
AllGo’s solid status in multimedia and smartphone connectivity software provides Visteon’s infotainment software capabilities with greater scale and depth. With the addition of the India company’s assets and professional workforce, Visteon will be able to speed up the innovation and penetration of affordable automotive infotainment solutions to their customers.
According to Sachin Lawande, Visteon President and CEO, AllGo’s ready-to-use IP offers automotive manufacturers with a turnkey software-on-chip (SoC) solution to cost-effectively launch smartphone and mobile applications from the vehicle’s audio head unit. “We’re looking forward to working with the AllGo team and its customers.”
