There will only be 15 examples of this fascinating roadster in the whole world: The NOVITEC N-LARGO is built based on the Ferrari F8 Spider and occupies a unique position among the world’s most exclusive open-top sports cars due not only to its spectacular widebody, but also to its tremendous performance. The Coupe Edition of the NOVITEC N-LARGO, likewise limited to 15 vehicles, sold out completely in just a few days. The N-LARGO carbon bodywork with its width of 211 centimeters at the rear axle turns the Italian mid-engine sports car into an eye-catcher par excellence. NOVITEC developed particularly wide, tailor-made NOVITEC NF10 NL hi-tech forged rims in cooperation with Vossen specifically for this refit. The staggered combination of 21-inch and 22-inch wheels on the front and rear axle places even greater emphasis on the wedge shape of this powerful sports car. The NOVITEC version of the eight-cylinder with two turbochargers also lives up to the extravagant looks. With an output of 602 kW / 818 hp, the N-LARGO accelerates from rest to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. The sprint to 200 km/h takes a mere 7.7 seconds. With a top speed in excess of 340 km/h, this limited special model is one of the world’s fastest drop-top sports cars. Another NOVITEC specialty are high-end paint finishes and exclusive interior design as on the NOVITEC N-LARGO pictured here.
The use of carbon makes the bodywork refit developed in cooperation with famous designer Vittorio Strosek particularly light. The supercar fascinates with its sophisticated shape that was optimized in the wind tunnel. What is more: The N-LARGO front fenders, which replace the production components in their entirety, add seven centimeters to the width of the sports car. Gill-shaped slits in the top vent the air heated by the brakes.
Under them is space for forged NOVITEC NF10 NL 9.5Jx21 wheels with five delicate twin spokes and hub cover in center-lock look. Tires of size 255/30 ZR 21 ensure sporty handling. Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, these rims, exclusively produced by Vossen for the German automotive refinement specialist, deliver an outstanding combination of lightweight construction and strength. They come in 72 different color variants and with a choice of brushed or polished surface finish.
The rear flares even add 13 centimeters to the car at the rear compared with the base vehicle. Large intakes route the cooling air to the engine and the rear brakes. Extremely concave, forged 12Jx22 rims with high-performance tires of size 335/25 ZR 22 provide optimal traction. The NOVITEC N-LARGO rocker panels emphasize the hourglass shape of the mid-engine sports cars and route the air precisely to the rear end. NOVITEC also offers naked-carbon trim for the B-pillars as an option.
However, the bodywork refit focused not only on the spectacular looks, but above all on optimizing the aerodynamics as well. The NOVITEC N-LARGO front fascia, which replaces the production bumper, perfectly hugs the contours of the widebody’s wider fenders and gives it even more striking character. The additional spoiler lips at the sides also play a crucial role in minimizing aerodynamic lift, which further optimizes the handling stability at high speeds.
The wider N-LARGO rear fascia, which is fitted with a diffuser in addition, transitions to the rear flares equally homogenously. There is also a carbon rear spoiler in pronounced ducktail design, which generates more downforce at high speeds.
The insert for the front hood, the trim in front of the windshield, the door handles, the window triangles and the NOVITEC N-LARGO side mirrors are also made from this lightweight compound. The design of the latter looks to the current Formula 1 cars for orientation.
A lower center of gravity optimizes the handling and consequently NOVITEC lowers the ride height of the open-top two-seater by about 35 millimeters with special sports springs. They can be complemented with a front-lift system, which makes it easier to navigate parking garage ramps or speed bumps. The driver can hydraulically raise the body at the front axle by about 40 millimeters at the touch of a button and return it to its standard level at any time or automatically upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h.
It goes without saying: such an extravagant open-top sports car also demands performance the NOVITEC way. An added 72 kW / 98 hp for the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 in the maximum output level. To this end, NOVITEC adapts two NOVITEC N-TRONIC modules to the electronic engine control unit. They supply the engine with performance-optimized mapping for injection and ignition while moderately increasing the boost pressure.
In addition, a NOVITEC high-performance exhaust system is installed. N-LARGO owners can choose between systems with or without integrated sound management by means of butterfly valves in the exhaust. There is a material choice of stainless steel or especially light INCONEL. All systems are fully thermally insulated. This effect can be further optimized with an additional 999 fine gold plating. The additionally available 100-cell sports catalysts can also be enhanced with this precious metal.
In its most powerful version, NOVITEC delivers the drop-top N-LARGO with a peak output of 602 kW / 818 hp at 7,960 rpm and a peak torque of 903 Nm at a low 3,100 rpm. Be it with the hard top down or up, the acceleration is breathtaking: 2.6 seconds to 100 km/h are just as outstanding for a street-legal roadster as are 7.7 seconds from zero to 200 km/h. The top speed is in excess of 340 km/h.
