Recognizing the efforts and devotion of Emirati women in contributing to the success of the United Arab Emirates over the past 50 years, Nissan has released an inspiring video that honors women across the country and celebrates their achievements. In line with the theme of Emirati Women’s Day 2022, ‘Inspiring Reality…Sustainable Future’, the video features Huda Al Matroushi, the first Emirati female mechanic to open her own garage in the UAE, who exemplifies the nation’s journey of women empowerment.
This annual occasion shines a light on Emirati women who have proven, through their hard work and innovation, that no task is impossible. Resonating with Nissan’s core principle of ‘daring to do what others don’t’, this video aims to celebrate women who have defied the norm and become an inspiration for their families, communities, and the country.
Featured in the inspirational video, Huda Al Matroushi, said: “This has always been my dream, ever since I was a child. My experience so far has been unique – I started off small, I used to play with remote control cars, and I dreamt of owning my own garage. But the details expanded, and so did the challenges. But despite this, I defied the ordinary, and achieved my dream. Today and every day, I’ll stay as I am, an Emirati woman who doesn’t lose. I either win or learn. […] Happy Emirati Women’s Day to all women who defy ordinary.”
Abdulilah Wazni, Director of Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience at Nissan Middle East, said: “Huda’s story is one of dedication and perseverance, and we hope that it will motivate and encourage women across the UAE and wider region to follow their passion and achieve their dreams.”
