According to Wikipedia, an “expert” is somebody who has a broad and deep competence in terms of knowledge, skill and experience through practice and education in a particular field. And it is a well-known fact that the engineers at NAP Sportauspuff Manufaktur are absolute experts when it comes to the development, design and manufacture of high-quality, tailored sports exhaust systems. But, of course, having specialist status in one field does not necessarily exclude also having adequate expertise in other areas of activity. NAP demonstrates this perfectly with their new product line “NAP Exclusive”. With this label and the slogan “beyond performance exhaust”, the engineers – who have recently moved into new, even bigger and more imposing headquarters in Nordhorn, close to Germany’s border with the Netherlands – have shown that they can do much more than “just” exhaust systems. In collaboration with strong partners, NAP Exclusive offers practically every type of car customization imaginable, as proven by the Dodge Challenger presented here. The silvery carbon exterior parts add a touch of elegance to the dark muscle car, which optionally comes with the wide body kit straight from the factory. These adornments – manufactured from lightweight fiber composite – include a front spoiler that extends into the flared fenders, side skirts, a rear spoiler in the style of a duck tail, and a rear insert. The latter is framed by the two double tailpipes of the NAP exhaust system – reminiscent of a jet engine – complete with electronic valve control. Depending on the driver’s personal taste and the suitability of the surroundings, the V8 sound of the 5.7-liter HEMI engine can either be emitted very discretely or blasted out as a thunderous roar. The 22-inch Y-spoke wheels of the Challenger were developed within the scope of the project “NAP exclusive by VOSSEN” in cooperation with the top US manufacturer. The HF2 rims in fine bronze are manufactured using the flow forming method, giving them optimal weight characteristics, and on the Challenger they are soled with Continental Sport Contact 6 rubber rollers measuring a whopping 305/25R22. In spite of these monstrous dimensions, there was still room in the Challenger wheel houses for NAP Exclusive to lower the chassis by 40 millimeters using coilover suspension, as is only befitting. The mighty brake calipers of the muscle car – which bear the NAP logo in black against a red background – shine through from behind the wheels. Without a doubt, a real highlight is the expertly configured interior of the coupé. Napa leather and Alcantara in dark gray and beige have been combined with abundant carbon appliqués into an ensemble that is luxurious and sporty in equal measure. While NAP Exclusive design was applied to the sporty seats for the driver and passenger, the contoured back seat, and the door and side panels in a leather/Alcantara combination which, in places, is quilted in a diamond pattern, carbon was used to adorn the central console and gear stick, the dashboard, and the rim and trim of the remodeled Dodge steering wheel. Finally, the specially made floor mats and the Alcantara headliner provide the finishing touches. Naturally, all parts used to enhance the Challenger – including the carbon parts, coilover suspension and modified steering wheel – were made to the usual NAP standard of quality and can be registered by means of parts approval. Just a few more words on the new headquarters of NAP Sportauspuff Manufaktur and NAP Exclusive: Due to the company’s development into a manufacturer of small series sports exhausts for importers of American cars and renowned German automobile tuners, they found themselves in constant need of more space and therefore started looking into real-estate expansion. The “white house” in Nordhorn provides the NAP team with the ideal conditions to optimize production. For example, separate spaces have now been created for each stage of the manufacturing process (muffler production, piping, final assembly) such that the individual assemblies can be made independently of one another and always with the right specialist tools to hand. Moreover, additional state-of-the-art welding stations were set up and the development department team was expanded, which boosts productivity and quality even further. An ultra-modern dispatch system also ensures that the sports exhaust systems bearing the “Made in Germany” tag can be flown across Europe all the way to Singapore or the USA undamaged. Of course, the NAP team at the new site is more than happy to help customers who want to make use of their installation service. While they wait, they can enjoy the exclusive customer lounge or explore the town of Nordhorn with a replacement car.
