Just over a year ago, the experts at VANSPORTS.DE, a brand of Neuss-Holzheim- based Heinz Hartmann GmbH, caused a sensation with their limited GEOTREK edition of the Mercedes V-Class. Specializing in customized tuning and styling projects for Mercedes-Benz vans, they gave the people carrier a robust look and an adventure-style wrapping, perfectly in tune with the current van-life trend. Now, the technicians at VANSPORTS.DE have gone one better – and one bigger, too. Their special GEOLINE edition, based on the latest generation of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, is a spacious weekend motorhome with an off-road look. This makes it an attractive choice for freedom-loving campers (and others) who like to venture away from asphalt roads from time to time. The GEOLINE Sprinter features matt-black 18″ KIRUNA off-road rims – ideal for excursions on light off-road terrain. Depending on how the owner intends to use the GEOLINE, VANSPORTS offers either the 255/55R18 Continental tires shown here or Loder AT#1 All-Terrain tires of the same dimensions. As an alternative to the matt-black rims shown here, the KIRUNA alloy rims are also available in matt Bronze. The Sprinter’s front apron goes by the name “Wildboar” and is new to the VANSPORTS portfolio. With its powerful form language and a two-tone paint job that accentuates the intimated underride guard, the front apron underscores the special GEOLINE edition’s off-road character. In addition, VANSPORTS has installed a large radiator grille with vertical struts. Down the sides of the Sprinter, which features a metallic tenorite gray paint job, a GEOLINE decal with contrasting elements of matt and satin black and a stylized mountain silhouette (complete with an orange yeti) continue the front apron’s two-tone color scheme. The GEOLINE Sprinter also boasts a retractable awning and solar panels on its large roof to facilitate convenient, self-reliant travel. The spacious interior features an “individual” mobile home fit-out, including a lengthwise oriented bed, a washroom complete with a shower and toilet, and two additional Schnierle seats – everything you need for relaxing forays into the outdoors and on middle-distance tours. A powerful air- conditioning system ensures that temperatures within the van remain pleasant in summer, while an additional stand heater keeps it cozy even in wintry conditions. VANSPORTS also offers a series of optional upgrades for the cockpit – from carbon- fiber accessories to full leather upholstery. Although the vehicle shown here – a Sprinter 316 CDI with rear-wheel drive and a 163 hp 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine – is privately owned and not for sale, the technicians at VANSPORTS would be happy to make similar modifications and take into account specific customer requests, even at short notice.
