INFINITI Middle East has reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting the road safety agenda through its ‘Eyes on You’ initiative by donating infant car seats to parents of new-borns in the UAE.
Using a portion of proceeds from its successful Ramadan car auction, which saw the sale of multiple QX80 SUV’s entirely online, the infant car seats have been distributed to new parent’s across select Dubai hospitals in August. Working in partnership with RTA in Dubai, the hospitals have included Al Zahra Hospital, the International Modern Hospital and Latifa Hospital. INFINITI is also finalizing plans to distribute further car seats within Abu Dhabi hospitals later this year.
Mariam from Dubai was one of the new mothers at Latifa Hospital who received a car seat from INFINITI Middle East. She commented: “This is my first baby and this initiative is really helpful especially that being in the car with your new born baby is a huge responsibility and we as parents need to ensure that we are taking the highest safety precautions.”
Developed as part of INFINITI’s long-running ‘Eyes On You’ road safety initiative, the brand aims to educate parents and empower children to be safe on the road. Promoting the use of infant car seats is a key part of the cause to ensure children are seated safely in vehicles, after a regional survey from the brand revealed that 1 in 3 parents were unclear of the legal age requirement for car seat usage.
“Road safety continues to be a key passion point for INFINITI, which is why this Ramadan, INFINITI set out to provide car buyers with the great savings, while giving them a chance to contribute to a positive driving culture in the UAE,” said Karsten Jankowski, General Manager Marketing, PR & Customer Experience, INFINITI International markets. “We are delighted to be a part of the special journey for parents as they drive their new-borns home for the very first time. We will continue to make road safety a priority and to raise awareness of the importance of keeping children safe on the road.”
‘Eyes On You’ is closely aligned with the Dubai traffic safety strategy to reduce road fatalities by 1.5 for 100,000 population by 2021.
