Hyundai Motor Company Middle East and Africa HQ, in partnership with the Sharjah-based global humanitarian organization, The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), and the University of Sharjah, announced the launch of ‘Hyundai Continue – Mobility for Food Bank’ charity campaign in the emirate.
Hyundai Motor Company Middle East and Africa HQ with the UAE Hyundai General distributor, Juma Al Majid Establishment, joined forces with TBHF and the University of Sharjah to deliver food packages to 250 resident families facing economic hardships across all regions of the emirate. The initiative is part of a continuous campaign that will commence with Ramadan 2022.
This initiative comes to affirm Hyundai Motor Company’s social responsibility as an active contributor to sustainability and human progress, Hyundai will continue to carry on the impact of creating a shared value that aims to create better opportunities for a better future.
Speaking at the launch event, the Head of Customer Experience at Hyundai Motor Company Middle East and Africa HQ, Mr. Jae Sun Yoo, said, “We are proud to launch the second phase of Hyundai Motor Company’s ‘Mobility for Food Bank’ in the UAE. This campaign follows Hyundai’s global direction towards a more sustainable future. The initiative is another chapter of many that came before in Hyundai Motor Company’s mission to achieve its CSV goals and ambitions in many parts of the world, all aimed toward sustainability and progress for humanity.”
Juma Al Majid Establishment, the UAE’s general distributor of Hyundai Motors, is an active partner in this campaign, contributing the food packages, and providing Hyundai Staria vans and other vehicles to provide an efficient mobility solution for this initiative, especially to reach the targeted families in in Sharjah.
Sulieman Al Zaben Director of Juma Al Majed Est, commented on the role of his company in this campaign, said:” This campaign fulfils Hyundai Motor’s vision as a Mobility solutions provider, and helps achieve our sustainability goals by using our fleet of Hyundai Vehicles in the delivery of the food packages to their destinations”.
Welcoming this humanitarian partnership, Mariam Al Hammadi, Director, TBHF, said: “Humanitarian efforts have the strongest outcomes when charitable organizations like ours enjoy the collaboration and support of a socially driven private sector and individuals alike. As we step into the Holy Month of Ramadan, we look forward to furthering the humanitarian vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler or Sharjah, and his Wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of TBHF, to positively touch the lives of those in need. Any society flourishes and realizes its fullest potential when all its members, without exception, enjoy their basic human rights of food, housing, healthcare and education”.
TBHF has contributed to the initiative by providing necessary assistance to target groups of resident families facing economic hardships, to improve their living conditions especially in the holy month of Ramadan. This helps ensure the availability of food.
Commenting on the role of the university of Sharjah in this campaign, Dean of the School of Business Administration Professor Dima Jamali said: “We are delighted to be part of this charitable initiative to reach out to the less fortunate, we believe in the importance of social responsibility and the pivotal role in facilitating positive change and happiness for all, also we reassure our commitment to educating our students on the values of sustainability”.
The University of Sharjah plays an important role in reinforcing the event with70 students to prepare the food packages and help in the delivery using the fleet of Staria vans provided by Hyundai Motor Company and Juma Al Majid Establishment, to deliver the packages to the isolated areas in Sharjah.
Hyundai Motor Company has taken conscious steps toward its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility by using sustainable packaging directly from the food suppliers and providing efficient transportation needs. All packages contain sustainable food that last 6 months and can be used by the underprivileged to cook their meals during and after Ramadan.
Under the slogan ‘Progress for Humanity’, this initiative follows an all-inclusive operation to strengthen the connection between businesses, organizations, and local communities. The campaign reflects Hyundai’s standpoint towards the company’s global initiative ‘CONTINUE’, which encompasses all activities aiming to create a shared value.
