Jaguar Racing has released the latest episode of ‘RE:CHARGE @ Home’ – the new video podcast series. Available across YouTube, Spotify, Apple and Google Podcasts this episode features Panasonic Jaguar Racing Team Director, James Barclay and Chief Executive Officer of Formula E, Jamie Reigle.
During this episode our guests discuss the future of electrification – both on the road and on the racetrack, consider the power of sport and reveal their thoughts on the six-race ABB FIA Formula E showdown in Berlin in August.
James Barclay, Panasonic Jaguar Racing Team Director:
“Formula E is a global platform to raise both the awareness and benefits of electric vehicles but also to help drive their adoption and, in turn, reduce emissions. Our main aim is to use this stage to communicate Jaguar Land Rover’s fantastic expertise in electrification in an exciting way and what better way to do this that through entertaining and informative sport. At Jaguar Land Rover we have a vision to create a more sustainable future for our customers and the communities we operate in around in the world. Our vision is Destination Zero – zero emissions, zero accidents and zero congestion.
“We’re coming out of a very difficult period in the world right now but we have incredible ingredients in Formula E to put on a fantastic six race showdown next month. We have the world’s best car manufacturers, the world’s best drivers, the world’s best partners and we race in the heart of the world’s best cities. We can’t wait to go to Berlin and end the season on a high.”
Jamie Reigle, Chief Executive Officer of Formula E:
“The fans are at the heart of everything we do and our aim at Formula E is to fuse culture with motorsport. The beauty of sport is the sense of emotional connection and it’s very clear that you need a core live audience to create the energy. The drivers are enhanced by fans, the teams and the partners love it and therefore their passion is super important for us to nurture.
“This being said, the health and safety of our whole ecosystem is absolutely paramount. It was really important for us to complete the season in a well-known Formula E environment and Tempelhof was a great option for this. We have to be really respectful of the city of Berlin, the people of Germany and protective of our group and this means one of the implications is that there won’t be fans due to limitations. However, we’re looking at innovative ways to tell the stories from Tempelhof through content and media. We hope that the fans will enjoy the remaining six races from afar and we hope to be back with our fans for season seven.”
