Designers behind the new $1.3 million Praga Bohema

The $1.3Million Praga Bohema was recently unveiled in Dubai – marking the hypercar’s global launch.  We’ve got the design team available for interviews. Below please find their profiles for reference. Looking forward to your feedback

Bohema Project Leader and Praga Cars Chief Engineer 

• “I started my career studying Motorsport at Brunel University in London before taking my first role at Škoda where I worked as a motorsport suspension engineer. I joined Praga in July 2013 at the time that the Praga R1 race car had just been launched. My first project was to make the R1 road-legal, which resulted in the creation of the Praga R1R in July 2015. At this point Praga decided on a new direction towards a track-focused, road legal car – the car you see today. This began with researching the homologation requirements and securing suppliers for the build. As the project progresses, I ensured that the concept of the car stayed true to the original idea while meeting the homologation criteria, and later managed the development of the prototype car on track. Most importantly, it is my role to make sure that the car can match and even exceed to whatever the market expectations demand.”

Juraj Mitro 

Chief Designer 

• I have been a professional product designer all my life since graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Bratislava. My skill I believe is in making complex functional design look simple and elegant. I have a huge passion for cars and also carbon, and the Bohema is the perfect combination. My first real car design that was produced in prototype form was the K-1 Attack sports car that was a study in innovative construction, aerodynamics and track performance. This project, that I completed in 2000, helped establish Mitro Design, my design business, in partnership with my wife, a skilled interior designer. At Mitro Design we focus on designing and manufacturing exclusive carbon fibre furniture and this is a perfect complement and contrast to the pressure of designing the Bohema in partnership with the Head of Engineering.

Vehicle Performance Engineer 

• “I have been with Praga now for over three years having joined to help develop the Bohema performance on road and track; before that I worked for an industrial and agricultural engineering firm in the Czech Republic, but then started a company with colleagues developing the ‘Mosquito’ supercar concept as a showcase for our skills. We wanted to design and build our own supercar, but then Praga called. Three highlights of my time so far have been, firstly, on suspension development to deliver tight, flat cornering at high speed on track, with compliance and relative comfort on road, which I experienced first-hand this summer on English B-roads! Secondly, leading our aero wind tunnel testing working in partnership with the chief engineer and chief designer to ensure the on-track performance is not lost to a desire to make the car look elegant and attractive – it must handle well on fast corners and look great static in car collections. Finally, the overall set-up of the car to ensure comfort and lap records, working closely with Josef Kral and the test team.”
