CITROËN is continuing its comeback in the UAE with a unique sporting experience in Dubai this Ramadan. The European automaker will host CITROËN NIGHTRIDE, a first-of-its-kind cycling event focusing on generosity and people’s wellbeing, in the spirit of the Holy Month. The event will be held in association with Cycle Against Cancer, a charity founded by Guido De Wilde, a cycling enthusiast and cancer survivor living in the UAE for 16 years. Through his organisation, Guido aims to create cycling challenges across the country to help raise funds that will fight the disease. The CITROËN NIGHTRIDE will take place on Tuesday, April 26 th from 8:00pm to 11:00pm and will welcome cycling enthusiasts from across the UAE for a night of adventure and exploration. Rakesh Nair, Managing Director for European Brands at Stellantis ME, said: “We are proud to launch this initiative, targeting one of the most active communities in the UAE. CITROËN is a brand that is inspired by you, and since its inception has always placed a huge importance on community, striving to bring people together. This is what makes Cycle Against Cancer a natural fit for this activation, where for every entrant, AED 50 will be donated to the Al Jalila Foundation to help accelerate their cancer research initiative.” The Al Jalila Foundation supports medical treatment for individuals unable to afford quality healthcare, provides scholarships to nurture a home-grown medical professional and supports research that addresses health challenges prevalent in the region. CITROËN NIGHTRIDE aims to raise awareness by bringing people together to support the Al Jalila Foundation on their mission to serve the community. CITROËN has a long association with cycling and is one of the most globally recognisable automotive brands in this space. To solidify this, the automaker became a co-sponsor of professional French cyclist, Vincent Lavenu’s team in January 2021, adopting the slogan, “Let’s drive differently”.
