Chevrolet Middle East announced today that the refreshed 2022 Chevrolet Silverado line-up is now available across the region, bringing more choices, more technology, and more off-road capabilities to truck-lovers. The line-up is headlined by the first-ever Silverado ZR2, Chevrolet’s new flagship off-road truck, and the latest addition to a successful lineup of off-road capable pick-up trucks.
“The Silverado has earned its reputation as a durable, versatile, and powerful truck in the Middle East. Adventure-lovers and off-road aficionados flock to the Silverado trims and, with the new 2022 line-up, and the launch of the ZR2, we are proud to offer a truck that will exceed their expectations at every turn,” said Sharon Nishi, Chief Marketing Officer, GM Africa & Middle East. “With the full 2022 line-up, we can now offer customers more choice, a more refined design and new technology options from the LT through to the High Country and the all-new ZR2. We can’t wait to see these new trucks on – and off! – roads across the region.”
Refreshed Interior and Exterior Design
From the LT through to the premium High Country and the off-road beast, the ZR2, the new Silverado line-up features an enhanced exterior design that asserts the presence and dynamism this generation introduced in 2019. It also offers a new and expressive interior with enhanced technology integration.
The cabin of the Silverado is fully driver-oriented, underpinned with thoughtful design cues and tech offerings connected to Chevrolet performance heritage. Fully redesigned, the interior features a sweeping horizontal instrument panel that makes the cabin feel more spacious, along with a new enhanced functional center console which features an ETRS Electronic Shifter, available on the LT up. For the driver looking for high quality sound, the Silverado offers an enhanced BOSE premium sound system, available on the RST and standard on the LTZ and High Country.
A class-leading, 13.4-inch-diagonal touchscreen comes as standard on LT, RST, Trail Boss, ZR2, and High Country while a 12.3-inch configurable driver information screen replaces the traditional gauge cluster. Together, they provide the driver with a bold, panoramic, and at-a-glance view of the important vehicle feature readouts and infotainment settings.
For the more discerning driver, Chevrolet is bringing the Silverado High Country to the region and the most premium Silverado has gotten even better for 2022. The interior features authentic open-pore wood trim on the console, upper glove box and doors and is off-set by the jet-black interior and stainless-steel speaker grilles from the Bose premium audio system. Premium leather seats are decorated with custom perforation and elegant stitching patterns, with the exclusive High Country badging featured prominently on the headrests and door sill.
Available on most trims, Google built-in provides access to Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play right on your infotainment screen. This new experience works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay4 and offers new levels of customization and flexibility for customers.
Starting with an already bold style, the Silverado’s designers enhanced the 2022 model with elements that reinforce the truck’s wide, stable, and confidence-inspiring stance while also incorporating refined cues. Each trim features a new front fascia and grille design, that emphasizes each trim’s unique personality and celebrates its iconic stability and strength. New daytime running lamps have been programmed with animated walk-up and walk-away functions in addition to swiping turn signal functions on select trims.
The versatility and capability that Silverado is renowned for is taken to the next level with the Durabed, which unlocks a cargo bed volume of 2,030 liters, making the Silverado is as functional as it is good-looking. The Silverado line-up also features 12 standard tie-downs, outperforming all other competitors, and innovative features such as the available and industry-first power up/down tailgate and the available six-position Multi-Flex tailgate.
First-ever Silverado ZR2
The first-ever Silverado ZR2 drives into the flagship position of ChevroletTrucks’ factory-lifted off-road lineup, offering race-proven off-road performance customers can buy right from the showroom floor or online (at participating SCD dealers). The ZR2 brings together a premium interior, immersive technology, a number of standard safety equipment features and off-road prowess in a comprehensive package.
Tested across both the US and the Middle East, the ZR2 is undeniably, an off-road beast. Powered by a standard 6.2L V-8 engine, and mated with 10-speed automatic transmission, the Silverado balances everyday driving comfort and hardworking capabilities, with a payload and towing capacity of up to 553kg and 4,000kg respectively.
Suspension upgrades coupled with the Silverado-first application of Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers and uniquely tuned springs that increase the maximum front and rear suspension travel to enhance its off-road capabilities. A new steel front bumper designed for off-road strength, durability, and clearance, including an all-new, high-approach front bumper that enables an improved 31-degree approach angle, compared to other Silverado off-road models. Paired with specific 33-inch off-road tires and a dual exhaust, which has been placed before the rear bumper to eliminate potential damage, the ZR2 can tackle any terrain.
In addition to its functional features, the new Silverado ZR2 is distinguished by several aesthetic cues, including a new black hood insert, a unique grille with integrated lighting and a “flow-tie” emblem, wheel flares, ZR2 badges, unique 18-inch wheels, and a unique Jet Black/Graystone leather-trimmed interior, with complementing dark trim.
