Western Motors, which is authorized distributor of Jeep in Abu Dhabi and is a member of the renowned ALFAHIM Group, has announced that it has finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Emirates Driving Company (EDC). The two companies plan to work together promote safe off-road driving, and encourage Jeep owners to go offroad in the UAE to use their 4×4’s to the maximum possible extent.
The partnership aligns with well with the desire of both companies to promote vehicle and passenger safety. Senior executives from both companies were present at the signing ceremony including Khaled Al Mansouri, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EDC, and Monzer Al Rifai, General Manager of Western Motors. The agreement signed by Fadhel Al Mehairbi, Finance Director on behalf of EDC and Mohammad Mahmoud, Sales Manager representing Western Motors at the headquarters of EDC in Mussafah. The initiative will target the beginning of the off-roading season and part of the partnership, the recently developed ‘Desert Driving’ training course will be offered free of cost to new Jeep customers who buy 2019 Wranglers from Western Motors. The course will be conducted in exclusive Jeep batches and will provide motorists with in-depth training on each feature of the vehicle. Thus, owners will be able to get optimal satisfaction from the capabilities of their new vehicles.
The course is designed to help new Jeep customers get acquainted with the thrill-seeking culture of Western Motors and will be helmed by EDC instructors, who will carry out the training on a Jeep Wrangler in Al Wathba, Baniyas. The course comprises several modules, including: basic mechanical knowledge of a modern Jeep Wrangler, topography of the desert, proven techniques to stay safe, off-road challenges and how to tackle them effectively. Customers who successfully complete the course will earn an off-road certificate from EDC.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Khaled Al Mansouri, CEO of EDC said that through this strategic partnership, EDC hoped to contribute to the overall safety of everyone who is interested indune bashing in the desert. He said that EDC’s aim was to ensure that car owners are fully aware with regard to safety procedures, and educated about any drivers and passengers need to take in addition to being mindful of the environment.
