Renault Trucks has appointed Grégoire Blaise as the President for Greater Middle East including Markets North and South. He will take over from Lars-Erik Forsbergh. Forsbergh is moving on to a new role in Singapore to helm the Volvo Trucks operations in South East Asia. Blaise has been with Renault Trucks from 1999 and his last role was as the General Manager and VP of China for Sunwin Bus, which is a joint venture between Volvo Group and SAIC.
Blaise was named as the President for the Greater Middle East Region in August this year by Christophe Martin, Senior Vice-President Renault Trucks International. His new role will involve overseeing all Renault Trucks operations for 21 markets spread across the greater Middle East region. This will include African markets like Egypt, Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Sudan, countries in the Middle East like Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain and markets further afield like Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
Speakign about his new position, Blaise said, that he was very happy to take up his new role. The Greater Middle East region is very important to the company and this has been evident through the significant investments Renault Trucks has made in the region in rcent years. He said that his primary objective woul,d be to ensure that the company continues to meet and exceed the expectations of customers.
Blaise is 46 years old and has an educational background in engineering and business. He joined Renault Trucks in 1999 and took up progressively senior roles including Managing Director for Renault Trucks Dealer Subsidiaries Holding for Strasbourg (2006-2010) and Marseille (2010-2012), Key Account Manager for Volvo Group Governmental Sales (2013), and his last role as the General Manager, VP China for Sunwin Bus (2014-16). In his position as GM, Blaise shared management of the the stand-alone company and supervised development, manufacturing, purchasing, marketing, sales of Sunwin-branded products.
