Mercedes used the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours D’Elégance as the venue to unveil its all-new electric luxury concept coupe that has a range of over 200 miles on a single charge. Named Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, the German manufacturer made it clear that the vehicle was not likely to end up as a production model but is instead a concept car that showcases technologies and designs that might possibly be used in the brand’s production cars in the near future.
Mercedes has revealed that it is likely to launch a number of new electric vehicles under a new brand. Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 had a few features that will make all car lovers would love to see in the forthcoming electric vehicles:
1. One outstanding feature of the car is its range. It is powered by a 80 kWh battery pack, and can achieve an NEDC-rated range of 310 miles (500 km), which translates into more than 200 real-world miles. It has “four compact permanent magnet synchronous electric motors”.
2. The car takes less than 4 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph while its top speed is 155 mph (250 km/h).
3. Another distinctive feature is the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6’s charging capacity. DC charging can be pushed to its maximum limit of 350 kW. This would add over 60 miles of range for every 5 minutes of charging.
We would definitely love to see these features that could increase the viability and popularity of electric vehicles in all forthcoming electric vehicles from the German car manufacturer.
