Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA FZE and Mercedes-Benz Trucks crossed a milestone when they recently handed over their 100,000th Mercedes-Benz Actros truck in the Middle East and in North Africa (MENA) region to their customer. The milestone was marked by a formal ceremony in which Messrs. Al Khaldi from Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) received the truck on September 1, 2016 at the Regional Center of Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
The event was attended by eminent dignitaries including Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Daimler Trucks and Buses, Roland Schneider, President & CEO of the Daimler Commercial Vehicles Regional Center in Dubai and Sheikh Khaled Juffali who represented the E.A. Juffali Brothers Saudi Arabia.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard said that the Actros is the most successful heavy-duty truck in the world and about one in 10 Actros trucks made have been delivered to the MENA region. This highlights the importance of these trucks in the region. The company had established a Regional Center one year ago to take it even closer to customers. He expressed his hope that this will help Daimler AG to cater better to the needs of its customers and further improve its market share in the region.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the main market in the MENA region for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, and almost 44,000 deliveries have been made to Saudi Arabia in the period from 1997. This success in the Saudi market is mainly the outcome of Daimler’s successful collaboration with its General Distributor in KSA, Juffali Industrial Products Company (JIPCO).
Roland Schneider, President & CEO of the Daimler Commercial Vehicles Regional Center in Dubai said that E.A. Juffali & Brothers, its distributor in Saudi has worked closely with Daimler in meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations with regard to premium products and services. He said that the 100,000th Actros symbolized the trust that customers have in the Actros and the success of both companies. According to him, the milestone will further encourage both companies to continue to deliver high-end products and customer services across the region.
