Mercedes-Benz has debuted the new generation of the GLC Coupé which offers customers the sportiness of a coupé with the functionality of an SUV. The outcome is a model that delivers unparalleled looks, cutting-edge technological features, intelligent driving assistance systems and the latest generation of the MBUX Mercedes-Benz User Experience multimedia system with its wide range of control options. The coupe comes with a new engine range line-up that take sportiness, safety and efficiency to the highest levels.
Mesmerising coupé rear: elegant exterior design
The GLC Coupé is notable for its elegant style and dynamic appearance. The external appearance is characterized by the dominant front end, a powerful stance and standard-fit chrome details like the front and rear underride guards. Its coupé character is apparent in its squat silhouette teamed with the dropping roof line and rounded rear window. The model’s unique look is further accentuated by the powerfully contoured diamond radiator grille having an integrated star and a single louvre that is typical of a coupé. This is complemented by the distinctive air intakes and the new contours of the standard-fit LED High Performance headlamps.
The features of the GLC Coupé that resemble those of an SUV are its dropping roof line, the eye-catching chrome strip on the high beltline, the muscular stance and the rearwards-ascending light-catching contour. Thanks to its dynamic proportions and the high level of ground clearance, the GLC Coupé is just as suitable for use on smooth tarmac as it is on a dirt track.
Intelligence and convenience: the interior
The luxurious interiors and the user-friendly controls are other characteristics of the Coupé. The large, one-piece console panel extends from the center air vents to the armrest and enhances the premium look. Mercedes-Benz has used a new color called magma grey for the interiors. There are two variants of the completely revised multifunction steering wheel. The steering comes with Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and the Touch Control buttons for controlling the instrument cluster and the infotainment system as well as the acoustic input feedback.
The center console has a multifunctional touchpad that makes the controls even easier to operate. This touchpad replaces the rotary pushbutton. In the new generation of the coupe, the infotainment system has larger touchscreen displays with optionally 12.3 inches in the instrument cluster plus the free-standing multimedia display in the centre is available in two sizes: 7 inches with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and 10.25 inches with 1920 x 720 pixels. The latest generation of the MBUX Mercedes-Benz User Experience multimedia system comes with intuitive logic and a wide range of control options. Motorists can interact with the GLC’s infotainment system in five different ways:
Increased efficiency: the new engines
