Hyundai Motor Company has reinforced its reputation for innovative design by winning the iF Design Award for the fifth consecutive year. Hyundai proved to be a clear winner at the 2019 edition of the awards with twin awards – one for the Palisade and one for the Le Fil Rouge concept vehicle. Both models won the awards in the Automobiles/Vehicles category at the renowned design contest.
Hyundai’s record win this year proved to be another significant milestone for the automotive manufacturer which has come a long way since its inception and has succeeded in making premium cars that are affordable and available for customers worldwide.
The award highlighted the stylish design of the Palisade, Hyundai’s new flagship SUV, which was launched at the 2018 edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show and is positioned as a premium three-row sports utility vehicle.
The Palisade comes with path breaking capabilities and technologies which are meant to enhance speed and safety and make the vehicle suitable for all-road driving. Its bold design, both in terms of the interior and exterior, is meant to provide customers with the highest levels of comfort, roominess and relaxation.
Hyundai’s Le Fil Rouge concept car, which was launched at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show was the second winner. The vehicle offers another take on Hyundai’s sporty design spirit that was first seen in the 1974 Hyundai Coupe Concept. In line with the concept of “sensuous sportiness,” the vehicle harmonizes the four fundamental design elements of proportion, architecture, styling and technology, while providing the right mix of beauty and function.
For over 64 years, the iF Design Award has recognized excellence in design from design professionals around the world. It is organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover, which is recognized as the oldest independent design institution in the world and the prestigious prize is given to the top designers spanning various disciplines and categories. The 2019 edition of the award attracted 6,400 product submissions from companies drawn from 50 countries and the entries were judged by a jury of 67 international design experts.
