Hyundai Motor Company has announced the launch of Hyundai C A R E, a warranty extension policy for its vehicles across the globe. The initiative has been launched with the intention of supporting those Hyundai customers who might have limited access to vehicle maintenance thanks to lockdowns in many countries as an outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hyundai C A R E has been launched based on the premise that owners of Hyundai vehicles with original warranties which expire in the period from March 1st to April 30th 2020 will have their warranty extended by another three months until 31st May 2020. Warranties that were originally scheduled to expire in May would also get guaranteed coverage until the end of the month.
The Hyundai CARE warranty extension program would apply to over 1.21 million Hyundai vehicles in 175 countries.
Hyundai made this decision to launch the Hyundai CARE initiative as an outcome of the global reaction to the outbreak of COVID-19, which has made many countries to take various precautionary measures. These include closure of what is deemed to be non-essential facilities like service centers. With Hyundai C A R E, Hyundai hopes to cater to any customers who might have concerns about being unable to visit a service center to get any vehicle maintenance or warranty repairs during the period of the government-imposed lockdowns.
The well-being of Hyundai customers and employees is a high priority at the companyHyundai is closely following COVID-19 developments and complying with measures in local markets to minimize the spread of Coronavirus.
Bang Sun Jeong, Hyundai’s Vice President of Middle East and Africa said that the company was aware that many Hyundai customers might have limited or no access to vehicle servicing during these extraordinary times.
He added that with Hyundai C A R E, Hyundai wanted to set their minds at ease regarding eligibility for warranty repairs and related services in the coming months.
Bang Sun Jeong concluded, “Not only do we care about our customers’ health and safety, we care about the ‘health’ and safety of their vehicles as well.”
Hyundai Motor dealers will contact all affected customers separately in the coming days, with more details about the Hyundai C A R E program.
