Ram brand revealed its Big Game commercial today, featuring actor Glen Powell (“Twisters,” “Hit Man,” “Top Gun: Maverick”) in a truck-twisted version of the children’s fairy tale, “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” In “Uncle Glen’s” version of the classic story, he tells a high-octane adaptation to his real-life twin niece and nephew that includes Ram trucks, a fire-breathing dragon, jumping across active volcanoes and, in the end, does include actual (CGI) bears! The 60-second commercial, “Drive Your Own Story,” can be viewed now across the Ram brand’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Stellantis is the only automaker with commercials in the Big Game this year, with both Ram and Jeep® brands making appearances.
“The wealth of Stellantis is the ability of our wide array of iconic brands to address any customer needs in their different life stages,” said Olivier Francois. “So much so, we are a bit like Goldilocks. Our commercial acts as a metaphor through a classic fable that is deeply rooted in American culture, with our Ram trucks partner Glen Powell serving as our Goldilocks trying out our Ram 1500, Ram 2500 heavy duty and the new Ramcharger 1500. With options that include fully electric, hybrid or gas, we’ve set the table for our customers to choose what is ‘just right’ for them.
“Our participation as the only automaker in the biggest American television event makes perfect sense for us. 2025 will see our brand portfolios grow and stand out against the competition.”
“I spent most of the ‘Twisters’ shoot in a Ram truck and it just felt right,” says Powell. “Being part of this Super Bowl spot feels like a natural continuation of my connection to a brand that has already brought me so much joy behind the wheel. And to top it all off, one of my favorite filmmakers, the legendary David Leitch, brought his signature style to create something truly fun and action-packed. As if that wasn’t enough, I had the chance to play Uncle Glen alongside my real-life niece and nephew, Gwen and Witt, a role that hit close to home in the best way. In my family, the Super Bowl is more than just football, it’s about coming together and, yes, judging the commercials. Having my family in my first Super Bowl ad felt like the perfect way to bring everything full circle.”
“Hauling a barbequed dragon and jumping volcanoes definitely falls out of the common duty cycle for a Ram pickup, but that doesn’t make it impossible,” said Tim Kuniskis, Ram Brand CEO. “The choice between the all-new 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, a combination of electric and ICE that will open up for orders soon, the Ram 2500 Rebel heavy duty and the Ram 1500 RHO may not come easy, but we always want to offer our truck-buyers options. Whether it’s gasoline powered or electric powered, or perhaps a combination of both, Ram truck buyers, like Glen, are given the power of choice, allowing them to be the hero of their own story.”
“We wanted to take a classic tale and give it a bold, unexpected twist—just like the Ram brand does with every truck it builds,” said Director David Leitch. ”Glen Powell brings the perfect mix of charm, toughness and humor to our modern-day Goldilocks story, proving that the right truck isn’t too big or too small—it’s just right. This spot is all about adventure, capability and finding the perfect fit, with a little cinematic magic thrown in for good measure.”
Instead of Mama Bear, Papa Bear and Baby Bear with porridge options, the Ram version of the children’s bedtime story (soundtracked to Van Halen’s classic “Panama”) features Powell having the power to choose from, one, the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, two, the new heavy-duty Ram 2500 Rebel and, three, the new Ram 1500 RHO to take on his own adventures. Depending on his needs, he picks the one best suited for his story.
With the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, Powell flexes his artistic muscles and shows off his chainsaw carving skills, then he goes into full superhero mode to slay a fire-breathing dragon, which he then proceeds to eat after towing it behind him in a dragon-size smoker with the heavy-duty Ram 2500 Rebel, and he jumps volcanoes in the Ram 1500 RHO. He is ultimately snapped back to reality as “Uncle Glen” during his reading of the bedtime story by his twin niece and nephew (the children of Powell’s real-life sister).
The one-minute film was directed by blockbuster filmmaker David Leitch (Minted Content), known for global action hits, such as “Deadpool 2,” “John Wick,” and “Bullet Train.” An extended 90-second version of the film can be seen on the Ram brand’s YouTube channel.
Ram is also offering branded merchandise tied to the Big Game commercial to consumers, including plush/stuffed dragons and bears, T-shirts, hoodies, blankets and even a dragon-wing hot sauce, all of which are available beginning February 6 at RamTrucks.com.
The 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger will be available for orders in the second quarter of this year.
“Drive Your Own Story” was created by the Ram brand, in partnership with GSD&M and produced by Minted Content.
Powell’s connection to the Ram brand goes beyond his debut in Ram brand campaigns, “The Calling” and “The Convoy,” but extended onto the silver screen as his character was seen navigating treacherous storms and relying on Ram trucks in last summer’s Universal Films and the Ram brand co-branded “Twisters” advertising campaign.
