Al-Futtaim Honda, the company that is the exclusive distributor of Honda vehicles, bikes, marine engines and power products in the UAE, has received recognition from the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) for its outstanding contribution to protecting the environment.
The company received this recognition on the basis of its efforts to recycle waste and for achieving its environmental targets for the year, and invited by EEG to plant two trees at the ‘For our Emirates, We Plant’ ceremony. EEG had organized this event where over 230 trees were planted. When these trees mature, they will contribute significantly in th eeffort to make the environment more sustainable by mitigating over 1.36 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
Speaking about the recognition from EEG, Colin Cordery, Regional Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Honda said that the company was extremely honored to to be recognised by EEG for its environmental efforts. He added that as a company, al-Futtaim Honda makes every effort to reduce its carbon footprint. This recognition is the outcome of efforts by all the associates who shared a common goal of recycling waste across the organisation. He went on to thank the team for their active participation in the recycling initiative.
As part of Al-Futtaim Honda’s recycling efforts, approximately 7,500kgs of paper waste, 780kgs of plastic and 95 toner cartridges were recycled. Over 19,000 kgs of old corrugated cardboard were also recycled through the Central Parts warehouse.
