Discovery Sport is versatile by design and ready for family adventures, with up to seven seats. A dramatically refined new interior exudes modern luxury, within which clients can benefit from the latest Pivi Pro 2 infotainment system on an elegant single curved glass touchscreen, as well as all the practical stowage, seat configurations and wellness technologies that make it a favourite among active, modern families.
Luxurious cabin quality comes from finely crafted, tactile materials. The interior feels bright, spacious and airy with stadium-style seating for optimum visibility in all three rows. The optional panoramic glass roof further adds to the sense of space.
Discovery Sport’s refined interior features a new gear shifter surrounded by a dark anodised aluminium trim finisher and an elegant three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. Available in soft Windsor leather or a leather-free textile on the S and SE, it has buttons that can interact with Pivi Pro or activate a virtual voice assistant. Discovery Sport S and Dynamic SE models feature DuoLeather interiors with up to three colour options. Clients who do not wish to opt for leather can choose Suedecloth paired with the luxuriously soft, non-leather Luxtec, made from recycled polyester microfibre.
Dynamic HSE is available with Ebony Windsor Leather with Lunar Grey contrast detailing on the seats. Alternatively, clients can choose a DuoTone Light Oyster and Ebony trim, offering a distinctive two-tone finish.
Prof Gerry McGovern OBE, Chief Creative Officer, JLR, said: “Discovery Sport is a characterful, modern, compact SUV, with a versatile interior and intuitive technology – perfect for active family life.”
Available with up to seven seats, the Discovery Sport’s versatile and spacious interior ensures generous room and comfort for all, with up to 24 possible seat configurations14. The second row of seats slides and reclines with a 40:20:40 split, while a load area of up to 1,794 litres with the rear seats folded down accommodates spontaneous adventures. A powered tailgate makes loading and unloading hassle free.
Every Discovery Sport now features a digital instrument cluster and steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles as standard, while the redesigned and simplified centre console boasts an elegant new floating 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen. The latest Pivi Pro2 infotainment set-up features permanently accessible sidebars, which provide shortcuts to key vehicle controls and functions, such as media, volume, climate and navigation. This allows users to access 90 per cent of tasks within two taps from the home screen.
Convenience comes as standard with Amazon Alexa11 voice AI and Wireless Apple CarPlayTM 12 making it easy to control major functions. Android Auto® also features as standard for the ultimate connectivity. The redesigned centre console liberates stowage space and accommodates Wireless Device Charging offered as standard, giving Discovery Sport one of the most spacious open front console stowage areas in its class for superior everyday family practicality3. In addition, two USB-C chargers are available in each row to keep everyone fully connected and charged, with 12V power in the second row and loadspace. Clients who opt for seven seats also benefit from third row climate control and USB-C charging.
James Sanderson, Lifecycle Chief Engineer, JLR, said: “Discovery Sport now offers a groundbreaking suite of technology features for the whole family thanks to the introduction of the latest Pivi Pro. The reductive new centre console complements the refreshed exterior and liberates even more generous stowage areas. Meanwhile, its range of power options, all-terrain capability technologies and impressive flexibility with up to seven seats mean it is truly capable of taking everything family life can throw at it.”
Discovery Sport features one of the most sophisticated interior air quality technologies3 available thanks to Cabin Air Purification Plus8. With PM2.5 Filtration and CO2 Management, the system helps to promote wellbeing for the whole family, as well as heighten alertness for the driver by monitoring and controlling CO2 levels inside. The advanced system combines nanoe™ X technology to combat pathogens and help significantly reduce odours, bacteria and allergens, while the Air Quality Index (AQI) app technology10 allows clients to monitor outside air quality at their location and their destination on screen.
Discovery Sport also offers one of the most comprehensive suites of camera technologies in its class3. Greater driver reassurance comes courtesy of 3D surround cameras9 and ClearSight Ground View TM which offer feeds viewed on the 11.4-inch touchscreen, and ClearSight Rear View MirrorTM which provides an unobstructed view behind the vehicle, regardless of what is in the back.
The new Discovery Sport also features subtle exterior updates highlighting its distinctive Discovery DNA.
Discovery Sport S features full body-coloured lower sills, a new contrasting Gloss Black grille with signature Discovery hexagon motif, Indus Silver skid plates and Bright Atlas Discovery script on the bonnet.
Dynamic models are more assertive and purposeful, with a contrast roof and exterior accents – including Discovery script, grille, lower body sills and lower bumpers – all featuring a distinctive Gloss Black finish. Gloss Black front claw detailing on the bumpers and wheel arches amplifies the purposeful stance, with the three-line signature of the front air intakes a clear Discovery design trademark.
Bold new optional alloy wheel designs include a 21-inch finished in Gloss Black and 19-inch in a Gloss Black or Diamond Turned finish. Varesine Blue is added to the curated exterior paint palette.
Discovery Sport continues to offer a range of efficient plug-in electric hybrid and mild hybrid electric power, delivering efficiency and performance13. New battery chemistry on the P300e offers an improved real-world range of up to 47km (29 miles) – enough to do 90 per cent of average daily journeys in hushed electric driving mode. Clients can also rest assured that charging their electric-hybrid is quick and straightforward – a 0-80 per cent charge is possible in as little as 30 minutes with DC charging offered as standard.
The electric hybrid combines an Ingenium 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with an electric motor and 14.9kWh lithium-ion battery, ensuring effortless progress whenever the moment takes you and a WLTP certified electric range of up to 61km (38 miles)4.
The P250 and P200 Ingenium petrols and D200 and D165 Ingenium diesels complete the line-up. Across both fuel types, advanced mild hybrid electric technology provides smooth operation of the start-stop function for composed urban driving. Using a belt-driven starter motor and battery pack, energy normally lost under deceleration is harvested, feeding back to a 48-volt battery to boost performance and enhance fuel economy.
