If you are an Android fan, the Polar M600 sportswatch is a must have accessory. The M600 is Polar’s first ever Androidwear smartwatch and comes with its very own proprietary optical heart rate sensor tech that employs six LED lights to generate wrist-based readings of heart rate and calorie burn. It also has a builtin GPS that assists with activity monitoring, tracking runs, sleep monitoring and supports smart coaching features. All this data is compatible with Polar Flow (and Google Fit) as well as third-party apps like MyFitnessPal and MapMyFitness.
The watch is waterproof and can be used while swimming. The device comes with an IPX8 certificate that attests it’s good in up to 10m of water. The Polar M600 is powered by a MediaTek MT2601 processor and comes with 4GB of storage and 512MB of RAM. The battery has plenty of juice and is a 500mAh pack, and on regular Android Wear mode, will last for two days on a single charge. The screen is a 1.3-inch, 240 x 240 (260ppi) colour transmissive TFT touchscreen display, that has been covered with Gorilla Glass for added protection. Sweaty hands are not an issue as there is a dedicated front training button. The watch is relatively lightweight at 63g. Voice control, notification support and the ability to customize watch faces are other distinctive features. The 4GB of internal storage allows users to sync apps and download music from Google Play. The Polar M600 will be available globally later this year and can be pre-ordered now.
