Bang & Olufsen’s new wireless speaker, Beosound Edge is a circular wireless speaker like its Beoplay A9. The Beosound Edge is like a flattened cylinder and can sit on the ground though wall brackets are also available. The most notable feature is its matte black fabric covers, which completely cover both the front and back of the device. The speaker has a frame fashioned from shiny aluminum which serves as a nice contrast to the black color in the center.
The speaker comes with proximity detectors that ensure that the touch control interface is illuminated only when someone is in front of the speaker. Adjusting the volume is easy as you just need to roll the speaker either clockwise or counter-clockwise. Once the adjustment is done, the speaker moves back to its usual position.
The Beosound Edge comprises one large woofer for bass, two pairs of a 4-inch midrange driver and a 0.75-inch tweeter. Another notable feature of this speaker is its Active Bass Port, which opens up when the volume is high and closes when it is lower for a nice effect.
Yes, price is steep at USD 3,500, but it just might be worth it for the magnificent audio experience.
