The Lincoln Motor Company continues to set the standard in luxury motoring with industry-leading levels of safety equipment as standard across its four-model line-up of SUVs. The range consists of the small premium SUV Corsair, the mid-size SUV Nautilus, the three-row and 10-speed Aviator and the iconic large SUV Navigator.
Nautilus, for instance, which Lincoln debuted in 2019, has already won the The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) ‘Top Safety Pick’ award in the United States following comprehensive crashworthiness evaluations. The new model scored highly for driver and passenger protection, roof strength and head restraint tests, as well as vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention and headlamps, which now feature improved LED projector lighting. IIHS is the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, a US Not-For-Profit organization established in 1959 in Arlington, Virginia, and funded by vehicle insurance companies.
Sami Malkawi, Managing Director, Lincoln Middle East says the company’s exceptional safety ratings help position it for even greater success, adding that Lincoln’s standard equipment offerings represent exceptional value for our customers. “Every new Lincoln is supplied with our Co-Pilot 360 suite of driver-assist features as standard,” he advises, “which are designed to keep you aware and unstressed, ensuring a smooth, pleasant and, most importantly, safe journey for all passengers. Lincoln vehicles provide secure and luxurious sanctuary from the daily stresses and hazards, designed and engineered to protect their occupants with intuitive and easy-to-operate technology that remains unobtrusive, allowing the driver to feel in control while always being embraced by Lincoln’s safely features.”
Lincoln’s Co-Pilot 360 has been cited by the IIHS as most effective at reducing collisions and includes a wide angled Rear-View Camera that transmits an image to the vehicle’s large center screen with helpful guidelines and audio cues to help the driver reverse safely and confidently into any spot. Auto High Beam Headlamps automatically brighten and dim again when other vehicles are detected and, when the system senses rain or fog, the high beams are disabled to enable a better view of what lies ahead.
Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Braking uses camera and radar technology to scan the road ahead for pedestrians or vehicles, the system providing a collision warning and automatically applying the brakes if the driver is unable to take preventative action, helping to avoid or lessen the severity of traffic accidents.
Blind Spot Information System and Cross-Traffic Alert identifies and alerts the driver to vehicles entering their ‘blind spots’ and can detect traffic approaching from either side while reversing, while Co-Pilot 360’s Lane-Keeping System uses a dedicated camera to monitor road lane markings to detect unintentional lane drifting, alerting the driver and assisting with increased steering torque to help get the vehicle safely and quickly back on track.
“No matter which model,” Malkawi continues, “all our vehicles come packed with safety and security options in addition to the Co-Pilot 360 equipment package. Lincoln’s Personal Safety System for driver and front passenger, for instance, includes dual-stage front airbags, safety belt pretensioners, safety belt energy-management retractors, safety belt usage sensors, driver’s seat position sensor, crash severity sensor, restraint control module and front-passenger sensing system. In the unlikely event of a collision or other impact, there are strategically placed airbags throughout the cabin to protect every part of the body, while Roll Stability Control and Tire Pressure Monitoring help drivers avoid dangerous conditions.
“At Lincoln, we are proud to be able to offer SUVs that are intelligently designed and meticulously well-engineered. Any new Lincoln represents the pinnacle of contemporary luxury and provides serene sanctuary – we welcome anyone to visit our showrooms to experience a different kind of ownership experience, one that resonates strongly across this region and beyond.”
