Thanks to the impressive power boosts generally achieved through complex hardware upgrades and modifications, the specialist technical team at POSAIDON have made a real name for them- selves in the top-level Mercedes tuning community over the last ten years. And now, POSAIDON is expanding its area of business: With the launch of the new Power Box for the Mercedes-AMG models A 45 (S), CLA 45 (S) & GLA 45 (S), POSAIDON has broken into the chip tuning box mar- ket. These models are all powered by the famous M 139 four-cylinder turbo engine, which generates 421 hp and 500 Nm in the S models and 387 hp and 480 Nm in the standard versions. When the POSAIDON PowerBox is installed, these values increase by 44 hp and 60 Nm, meaning that the S models pack a whopping 465 hp and 560 Nm and even the “normal” 45 AMGs deliver up to 431 hp and 540 Nm (values depend on the factory power). These power and torque boosts are possible without the vehicle having to be sent to the workshop or the control unit having to be sent away for software updates. The POSAIDON PowerBox is sent directly to the end client, who can easily install it themselves without the need for additional hard- ware modifications thanks to the plug-and-play design. Although it might be tempting to think that a higher maximum speed comes with these new levels of power, the AMG 45 models are actually limited to 250 or 270 km/h. And because the maximum speed is limited by the control unit of the drive train (CPC), POSAIDON’s PowerBox cannot unlock higher velocities. But do not despair: In order to raise the maximum speed, the specialists from the Rhineland are offering a new and modified CPC control unit as an optional extra. This device is specially configured to the customer’s vehicle and replaces the original CPC, thus completely eliminating the speed cap. Both the PowerBox, which features a stylish blue aluminum housing, and the optional CPC are shipped by POSAIDON in a special transport case – along with all cables, manuals and instruc- tions required for installation.
