Nissan used the 2019 edition of the Dubai International Motor Show to launch two unique Gazelle concept cars that the company designed exclusively for the Middle East. Inspired by the swift gazelle, which is one of the iconic animals found in the region, the two concept cars – Gazelle Storm and Navara Gazelle drew a lot of attention from the visitors to the show.
Nissan Gazelle Storm Concept The Gazelle Storm is a one-off concept vehicle derived from the iconic Nissan Patrol Super Safari and promises to deliver an unparalleled off-road experience. The vehicle elevates the great off-roading capability that the Patrol already has with the aid of a higher approach angle and an on-board tire compressor. These two features align perfectly with the off-roading culture of the region. They serve to further enhance the enjoyment of dune bashing, as well as extreme overland experiences that off-roaders across the region love.
The Gazelle Storm Concept can be used for masterfully tackling multiple terrains, and is powered by a 4.8L 6-cylinder engine. With its premium but tough interior, striking Gazelle Storm leather accents and varying mood lights, there is no compromise in terms of comfort or performance. The built-in protective storage box for off-road gear and camping equipment, storage drawers, a barbecue holder and food and beverage fridge are the perfect accessories for all kinds of outdoor adventure trips.
Thierry Sabbagh, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East, said that it was the Middle East that inspired the very creation of the Patrol Safari range. The Patrol with its combination of rugged exterior good-looks, and superb off-roading capabilities is a vehicle that is perfect for conquering any terrain and has gained legendary status in the popular culture of the region.
He added, “At Nissan we understand the importance and enduring popularity of this iconic nameplate to the people of the Gulf and in response to that demand, Nissan set out to create this exciting concept car.”
Nissan Navara Gazelle Concept The Navara Gazelle is another vehicle that was developed specifically for the Middle East region and is a truck that is meant to be a true workhorse. Its striking appearance and durable build make the vehicle the perfect vehicle to both work hard and play hard. The truck has features like built-in compressor, new bumpers, tailgate spoilers, enhanced suspension shocks, and a two-inch lift kit with all terrain tires that emphasize its sports and performance capabilities.
The Nissan Navara Gazelle Concept is powered by a 2.5-Litre Engine and customers can opt for either the petrol or the diesel variant based on their preferences.
