ZC Rubber has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Bekaert, which is the leading supplier of steel cord in the world. The two companies will collaborate on the development of steel cord on green tires.
The signing ceremony was held on the sidelines of the EU-China summit and was attended by the president of ZC Rubber Shen Jinrong and the president of Bekaert, Bert De Graeve. Eminent dignitaries who attended the ceremony included Chinese premier Li Keqiang and Belgian prime minister Charles Michel.
Bekaert is a Belgian company which has emerged as a market and technological leader in the field of steel wire transformation and coatings. ZC Rubber will be working with Bekaert as part of its drive to make safe and valuable tires with high quality steel cord. The new agreement between the two companies relates to integrated cooperation when it comes to steel cords, and this will free ZC Rubber to focus further on the development of green and smart tires.
Commenting on the partnership, Shen Jinrong said that ZC Rubber was pleased to expand its ongoing relationship with Bekaert through the strategic cooperation agreement. He added that “green” is the key word in the cooperation and went on to say that ZC Rubber is always committed to delivering innovation to premium tires with global customers.
When the quality of the steel cord product is high, it helps to reduce the wight and rolling resistance of the tires. ZC Rubber expects the cooperation with Bekaert to result in the development of green and smart tires having improved steel cord. This will help the company to strengthen its competitiveness in the global market.
The two companies will partner on innovative products, new materials, and clean production. They will also collaborate on environmental protection, social responsibility, and personal health.
