Knorr-Bremse TruckServices used the recent Automechanika fair in Frankfurt to showcase its new aftermarket package for commercial vehicles of all ages and types and its new brand of remanufactured products called EconX.
True to the company’s slogan, ‘Keep it running’, the company’s basket of services for fleet managers, workshops and distributors comprises diagnostics, repair services and needs-based maintenance in addition to offering customers access to the company’s extensive expertise through online services, training and individual expert advice. The company has an efficient international logistics system that makes it possible to deliver its wide range of spare parts as and when needed to a wide range of locations.
According to Wolfgang Krinner, Member of the Management Board of Knorr-Bremse Commercial Vehicle Systems GmbH, the Automechanikaputs show was the right venue to launch the new brand as it is the world’s biggest trade fair for the automotive aftermarket. Knorr-Bremse TruckServices is positioned as a brand that will deliver a wide range of reliable, economical aftermarket products and services. In addition to the company’s OEM products, they will also supply many remanufactured parts for value-based repair of older vehicles. These will later be sold under a separate brand name called EconX.
The remanufactured products marketed as part of the EconX brand will serve as a cost-effective, environmentally-friendly alternative for the repair of older vehicles. Knorr-Bremse has considerable experience as an OE manufacturer and this will be reflected in its range of remanufactured products. Its technicians are highly familiar with the precise technical specifications for each component and hence the highest quality standards will be maintained throughout the entire remanufacturing process.
Thus, customers can be fully confident that the Knorr-Bremse remanufactured products will have the same quality and specifications as the original product and will have a life expectancy appropriate for the age of the vehicle concerned. The five letters in the brand name ‘EconX‘ stand for its core qualities – original, value-based and sustainable.
To mark the launch of the new brand at automechanika, Knorr-Bremse showcased the latest additions to the EconX portfolio, including an electronic clutch servo – highlighting the company’s commitment to continuously expand its range of remanufactured components.
When it comes to aftermarket versions of its OE products, Knorr-Bremse Truck Services has tried to simplify the logistics and ordering process without any compromise in the functionality and reliability of the parts by reducing variety. Thus, 1,600 different versions of its brake calipers have been reduced to just 140 variants for the aftermarket. It has also come up with new compressor kits that were on show at the Automechanika show.
TruckServices on the spot – Knorr-Bremse’s workshop system
Knorr-Bremse has set up Alltrucks in collaboration with Bosch and XF to cater to distributors and workshops. These will supplement the services of the company’s own official Knorr-Bremse Service Centers to provide fleet operators with rapid, expert assistance. The AllTrucks network includes over 200 affiliated workshops in five European countries which offer full maintenance and repair services to commercial vehicles of all brands.
