While its Volkswagen peers gave their best shot in electrical architecture, new autonomous and infotainment technologies, Bentley chose to keep things as simple as possible at the recently concluded CES. It joined force with the audio experts at Monster to launch the ‘Monster at Mulliner’, a Continental GTV V8 S with a striking custom look and monstrous sound system – car technology done old school.
The Monster-inspired red-accented Onyx black body looks classy enough, and the add-on body components are also not overwhelming. According to car review sites, considering that the upgraded audio system is not used to bass-blast fine art off household walls, the car might feel at home in serene, old-money neighborhoods.
Bentley’s audio system is a 3,400-watt design with 16 speakers personally tuned by Monster Inc. CEO Noel Lee. The Mulliner personalization pision of the automaker has customized the surfaces and spaces around those 16 speakers with reds and blacks as well as an exclusive 3D laser-etched fascia panel. “Monster by Mulliner” and Monster’s motto, “Always Lead, Never Follow,” is beautifully inscribed around the interior.
Moreover, considering that the driver won’t want to go from immersive in-cabin sound experience to cheap earbuds, the car features a special compartment that stores a set of Monster’s 24K wireless headphones.
This powerful custom audio system is not currently offered in any production car worldwide.
