Mazda’s New Tech is Based on Hitachi’s G-Vectoring Safe Driving Assist Tech

Mazda Motor Corp. has recently developed a revolutionary technology based on Hitachi Automotive Systems’ G-Vectoring control algorithm. It will be launched as an advanced safety feature of the new-generation models rolled out in Japan, beginning with the updated Mazda Axela.

The Japanese automaker developed the G-Vectoring Control (GVC) technology by pursuing application-focused development on the basis of Hitachi Automotive Systems’ G-Vectoring control algorithm. Allowing dynamic coordination in both the car’s lateral and longitudinal acceleration forces, it is the first control system in the world capable of ensuring smooth and efficient vehicle motion by improving the vertical load on the four wheels.

Mazda’s GVC is the initial step toward the company’s new-generation vehicle motion control technologies initiative called SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS series. It is anticipated to stimulate upcoming market growth as a new-concept control technology that utilizes the engine to improve chassis performance.
