Porsche has launched the Taycan, which the company is calling the first mass produced electric car in the world. The Taycan was launched at an event that was livestreamed across three continents.
The 260-kilometres-an-hour Taycan dispels many preconceptions that the general public might have about electric vehicles being slow, plodding cars that cannot attain a decent top speed.

The event had Oliver Blume, chairman of Porsche’s executive board, unveiling the four-door Taycan symbolically in a former East German Air Force hangar in Berlin that has been repurposed as a solar farm, in keeping with the theme of green energy. His fellow board members did the same at Niagara Falls in Canada and on a wind farm in the Fujian province of China.

Speaking at the event, Blume called this a historic event as it marked the start of a new era, calling the Taycan a Porsche for the age of electromobility. Four years ago, Porsche had highlighted its commitment to sustainability with the Mission-E electric concept sports car which has been transformed into the Taycan with minimal changes.

The performance variants of the Taycan are called the Turbo and Turbo S, though they do not have turbochargers, in keeping with Porsche’s current naming scheme. The Turbo S delivers 751 hp compared to 671 hp for the Turbo. They go from 0 to 100 kph in 2.8 and 3.2 seconds respectively. The Turbo S has a range of 412 km while for the Turbo, it is 450 km, according to Porsche. The company is planningto make less powerful versions at a later stage, with the first such derivative being the Taycan Cross Turismo, which will be launched before the end of 2020.

Lutz Meschke, deputy chairman and member of the executive board in finance and IT said that Porsche’s plan was to ensure that 50 per cent of the brand’s model range is electric by 2025. This might even go up to 60 per cent so that Porsche can meet the legal FIA emission requirements. The next stage of the plan is to electrify the brand’s range of SUVs and this process would start with the Macan in 2022. The new Macan would use a platform that is shared with Audi and would help Porsche to save at least 30 per cent in terms of development costs.

According to Michael Mauer, chief designer at Porsche, it has been a top priority for Porsche for almost five years to become the first to market with a low-slung EV sports car. He said that hence, it was very important for the company to cater to the needs of customers both with regard to range and performance.

Recently, Porsche conducted a series of tests which involved subjecting the Taycan to 30 Launch Control starts that had the car accelerating from zero to 200kph and back to zero on a single charge. According to Porche, the Taycan is the first production vehicle having a system voltage of 800 volts. All others including Tesla models have voltages of 350 and 375. This high system voltage is expected to significantly reduce the time needed for recharging. Both the Turbo and Turbo S are powered by two electric motors with one motor being mounted inside each axle, thus effectively making them all-wheel drive.

The compact drive module effectively integrates the electric motors, transmission and pulse-controlled inverter which Porsche says has the highest power density (kW per liter of package space) of all electric powertrains which are available on the market. The Taycan has a two-speed transmission on its rear axle that is not seen in other EVs.
It has a virtual first gear that offers maximum power for standing start accelerations, while the second gear uses a longer ratio to ensure high efficiency and equally high power reserves at high speeds.

According to Porsche, the Taycan’s battery can be recharged in just over five minutes using direct current from the high-power charging network for a range of up to 100km. Under ideal conditions, the charging time for 5 to 80 per cent state of charge is 22.5 minutes and the maximum charging power is 270kW.

An issue most manufacturers are finding is that a skateboard-like chassis where batteries fill the full length of the floor give the car a stall stance. At Porsche, all models are low slungand this proved to be a stumbling block in terms of design.

Michael Mauer, chief designer at Porsche, said, “Being Porsche, our cars have to be low, so this provided some real challenges when it came to packaging and proportion”. But the team managed to keep the center of gravity lower in the Taycan than in the 911 coupe. “There were some ¬intense discussions because we needed to enforce this low look and, thanks to the pressure, we came up with some intelligent solutions.”

The cockpit comes with a new design, which includes a free-standing instrument cluster that was first seen in the 918 Spyder prototype. The Taycan though has the latest curved instrument cluster. A central, 10.9-inch infotainment display and an optional passenger display together form an integrated glass band. Conventional switches have been replaced with a touchscreen operation that uses haptic feedback via pulses through the fingers. Mauer explained that the objective was to create a very futuristic, clean interior without any switches and a seamlessly integrated center console display and passenger display.

With regard to the exterior, the focus of the designers was on emphasizing that the model is completely new while retaining the Porsche DNA. Features borrowed from other Porsche models include wide haunches over the rear wheels, raised front guards which bookend a sloping front bonnet and a rear tail light that extends across the full width of the car.

“Some manufacturers tried to change everything because they want to detach their new EV product from their traditional range, while others wanted to not change anything and only identify the EV with a badge,” said Mauer. “We needed to go down the middle so that Taycan was instantly identifiable as a Porsche but equally recognizable as an EV and a new Taycan.”

The Porsche Taycan was launched on September 4, 2019, across three venues – a solar farm in Germany, the Niagara Falls in Canada and on a wind farm in the Fujian Provence of China in keeping with the theme of sustainability.

At the launch event, former Porsche LeMans driver and Formula One racer Mark Webber who has contributed to many of the car’s development miles attested to its performance on the racetrack. The two-time winner of the Monaco grand Prix said that he chose to drive the model extremely hard as instructed during testing and though like all electric cars, the car carried more weight, it preformed exceedingly well. There is no engine at the front and hence there’s little weight over the nose. Thus, it performs very well with regard to cornering.

The new Porsche Taycan has received as many as 30,000 confirmed pre-orders, forcing Porsche to increase capacity to cater to the initial demand for Europe and North America. Hence, the allocation for the Middle East has been pushed to the latter half of 2020. Full prices for the Middle East market will be announced only by the first half of 2020.

Land Rover chose to reveal the New Defender with a live-action demonstration of the vehicle’s capabilities at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The launch began with a dramatic 42-degree descent down a climbing wall at the show and this was broadcast live to a global audience. The first adventure of the new Defender was a drive to one of the most land-locked places on the earth, the Valley of the Castles in the Charyn Canyon, Kazakhstan and this drive was helmed by professional mountaineer Kenton Cool, who has conquered Mt. Everest 14 times. He was at the launch to give the Defender his seal of approval along with Olympic medal-winning equestrian rider Zara Tindall.

The New Defender completes the Land Rover lineup joining the luxurious Range Rover range and the highly versatile Discovery SUVs. It will be available in 90 and 110 body variants, with up to six seats in the 90 and the option of five, six or 5+2 seating in the 110.

The Discovery range includes the Defender, S, SE, HSE, First Edition and top-of-the-range Defender X versions. Customers have the option of personalizing their vehicle in more ways than in the case of any other Land Rover, with four Accessory Packs named the Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban packs. Throughout the first year of production, Exclusive First Edition models with unique specifications will be available.

Speaking at the launch, Felix Bräutigam, Chief Commercial Officer, Jaguar Land Rover, said that the new Defender will be available in 128 global markets. It meets or exceeds the most rigorous emissions and safety standards across the globe and offers a combination of advanced technology and durable mechanical underpinnings. Customers have numerous options to personalize their Defender with four accessory packs, two body styles and a wide range of options and accessories to choose from, so that their Defender is their ultimate 4×4 companion, irrespective of their lifestyle.

An icon reimagined
The new Defender has a distinctive silhouette that makes it instantly recognizable, with minimal front and rear overhangs for excellent approach and departure angles.

Gerry McGovern, Chief Design Officer, Land Rover, said: “The new Defender is respectful of its past but is not harnessed by it. This is a new Defender for a new age. Its unique personality is accentuated by its distinctive silhouette and optimum proportions, which make it both highly desirable and seriously capable – a visually compelling 4×4 that wears its design and engineering integrity with uncompromised commitment.”

Land Rover used its purpose-engineered D7x architecture meant for extreme terrain for the new vehicle. It is based on a lightweight aluminium monoque construction for the stiffest body structure the brand has ever produced. The structure is three times stiffer than traditional body-on-frame designs and has been engineered to tolerate Land Rover’s Extreme Event Test procedures. It serves as the perfect base for the fully independent air or coil sprung suspension while supporting the latest electrified powertrains.
Customers can opt for either advanced petrol or cleaner diesel engines to get optimum power, control and efficiency for any environment. In 2020, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain will join the range.

Technical features include permanent four-wheel drive, a twin-speed automatic gearbox, a maximum towing capability of 3,720kg* and a maximum static roof load of 300kg, making the vehicle perfect for off-road trips.

The New Defender is also the first Land Rover to feature Configurable Terrain Response, which allows motorists to adjust a range of settings to suit the conditions to a more precise degree. A new Wade programme optimizes the vehicle for fording, making it easier to tackle flooded roads and tracks. Defender has a world-class maximum wading depth of up to 900mm.

The cabin design is notable for its exposed structural elements and innovative technologies, including the state-of-the-art new Pivi Pro infotainment system. The futuristic touchscreen is more intuitive and user-friendly, calling for fewer inputs to perform frequently used tasks, with a design that allows for near-instantaneous responses. There are as many as 14 individual modules capable of receiving remote updates so that Defender customers always benefit from the latest software, wherever they are in the world.

Nick Rogers, Executive Director, Product Engineering, Jaguar Land Rover, said that the new Defender has been reinvented for the 21st century while retaining its outstanding capability and minimalistic, functional interior. It has not lost its authenticity or character but still gives the customer the licence to do things differently, and to push the boundaries and do the unthinkable. .

He added, “From the start we had an absolute obsession with functionality beneath the skin, from choosing the right materials through to state of the art connectivity. The result is not only the most capable Land Rover ever made, but also a truly comfortable, modern vehicle that people will love to drive.”

Humanitarian partnership revealed
A Defender 110 wearing an International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) livery was on the stand in Frankfurt, with Land Rover announcing that it was reinforcing its humanitarian partnership with the IFRC by providing Defenders for the organisation’s Disaster Response vehicle assessment program. All vehicles used by the IFRC have to complete the comprehensive process before going into service on active operations. Land Rover has a relationship with the Red Cross that goes back 65 years with the first specially adapted Land Rover being a Land Rover that entered service in the Middle East as a mobile dispensary in 1954. Over the next three years, Land Rover will support disaster preparedness and response initiatives in locations including India, Mexico and Australia.

Caters to growing Ultra High Performance (UHP) market, with 61 SKUs arriving between February and December 2019 with fitments from Volkswagen Golf to Porsche 911

Goodyear has launched what it says is the ultimate all-round summer tire, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 Ultra High Performance (UHP) road tire. The tire is the successor to the tire manufacturer’s popular Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 range of tires and compared to its predecessor offers superior wet braking and dry handling performance thanks to the use of innovative technologies. The improvement in handling and wet braking is delivered without any compromise in road noise or ride comfort.

The main factor that contributes to the tire’s characteristics is the use of a highly-refined compound that Goodyear developed. This compound offers excellent wet weather capabilities without sacrificing endurance or dry handling performance. The tire’s contact patch has been designed to extend when braking, and hence its contact with the road increases to a level that is more similar to that of a track tire. The outcome is that when Goodyear conducted tests comparing the tire’s performance to that of its predecessor, the wet stopping distances were 4 percent shorter compared to the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tire.

With regard to tire performance, Goodyear focused on reducing the flex in the tread pattern when lateral forces are transmitted. The result is that the tire offers higher grip levels, crisp and precise turn-in and efficient, clean acceleration to enhance dry handling. The response from the steering is also significantly better thus providing the motorist with a more communicative and confidence-inspiring drive.

Goodyear’s plan is to introduce 51 SKUs in the period from February to May 2019, with 10 more being launched between June and December 2019. Goodyear will offer the tire in 17” to 22” diameters, 205 to 315 mm widths, and 50 to 25 side profiles and is planning to snag OE fitments for vehicles ranging from the Volkswagen Golf to more luxurious cars like the Mercedes C-Class, the BMW 3 series and the standard versions of the Porsche 911.

The debut of this tire will increase Goodyear’s ability to cater to the growing robust 8.3 percent year-on-year growth in demand seen in the 17” and above UHP tire segment from 2012, with such tires now accounting for 22 percent of overall summer volume. It is also projected that upper segment vehicle sales will increase from 17.5 to 18.2 percent by 2023. Figures indicating that UHP demand in north-east and south-east Europe is expanding 18 and 25 percent year-on-year from 2012 further increases the potential for the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5’s relevance in the tire market.

Lamborghini has launched a new variant of the Huracan that it calls the Huracan Evo. While it is not a completely new model, it offers a more advanced take on the Huracan that lovers of the supercar model would appreciate.

The changes to the Huracan Evo include a few tweaks to the styling, like the use of a more aggressive bumper. This bumper attenuates the y-motifs seen in the model. The Evo has also borrowed the concept of two ridges along the bonnet from the Countach. Another new feature is the hexagonal air intakes on the side. The high-mounted twin-exhausts give the vehicle a more sporty appearance.

Lamborghini said that the changes can improve the performance of the car as the Evo’s downforce and aerodynamic efficiency have improved by over five times from the first generation Huracán. When it comes to the wheels, the Evo has a new 20 inch Aesir alloy wheel design. There is a new exterior paint color, the Arancio Xanto paint option. Buyers can opt to configure their Lamborghini Evo under the Ad Personam program which offers bespoke styling and trim options for buyers.

The interior too displays a few minor changes. These include the addition of a new 8.4 inch vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment screen. The main difference is the inclusion of an optional dual-camera telemetry system. Other touches with regard to the interiors are the new mix of Alcantara and leather trim, with matching body color accents. Customers can configure their car in the manner they prefer, choosing from a wide array of options, which include the use of carbon forged composites and Lamborghini’s patented Carbon Skin.

The Evo is powered by a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine having the same specifications as the one used in the Huracan Performante. In the Evo, this engine gets titanium intake valves and a lightweight exhaust system. This engine produces 640PS and 600 Nm of toque, an increase of 28PS from the standard Huracan. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. Other features which improve performance are the addition of rear-wheel steering function, and a new ECU called Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI).

The Huracan Evo has a top speed of over 325 kmph. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.9 seconds and from 0-200 km/h in 9.0 seconds. It can slow down from 100 km/h to 0 in just 31.9 m.

Lamborghini expects deliveries of the 2019 Lamborghini Evo to commence between March and June.

The Audi Q8 combines the elegance of a four-door luxury coupe and the convenience of a large SUV with its spacious interior, top notch operating and suspension technologies and intelligent assistance systems. The Audi Q8 is made at the brand’s Bratislava plant and will be available at all Middle East dealers from the beginning of October.

The Audi Q8 more than any other Audi model, has a sporty and upscale appearance. It is 4.99 meters long, 2.00 meters wide and 1.71 meters tall, and hence is wider, shorter and lower than the Q7. The interior is highly spacious with a wheelbase of almost 3.00 meters. The vehicle has a three-seat system with seats that can be adjusted. When the seats in the rear are folded down, the luggage compartment under the power rear hatch can hold up to 1,755 liters.

New presence for the Q family: the exterior design
With its Singleframe in octagonal design, the Audi Q8 is the new face of the Q range. The most notable characteristics of the exterior which enhance the A8’s strong look are its strong radiator grille, the spoiler that has been drawn toward the front and the air inlets which are large and highly contoured. The roofline has an elegant slope and the wheel arches house up to 22-inch wheels. The off-road look is enhanced with the use of strong contours, tight surfaces and contrasting colors for the spoiler, wheel arch trims, door trim strips and diffuser.

The model has standard LED headlights with HD Matrix LED lights available as an option. As in the original Audi quattro, a black surface underlays a light strip connecting the daytime running lights and the taillights in the rear.

Suspension and drive

On a standard basis, the mechanical center differential transfers the forces to the front axle and rear axle at a ratio of 40:60 while it can transfer the majority to the axle with the better traction when needed. This feature as well as the high ground clearance of 254 millimeters, short overhangs and hill descent control make the Q8 great for going offroad. The suspension comes with damper control as standard while adaptive air suspension with controlled damping offering comfort or sports mode is optional. This feature means that the ride height can be adjusted by as much as 90 mm based on the driving scenario and the preference of the driver.

In addition to the standard progressive steering, the steering ratio becomes increasingly direct the more the steering wheel is turned. Buyers can also choose the all-wheel steering option for better stability and agility and this is particularly efficient thanks to the new mild hybrid technology (MHEV). The 48-volt primary electrical system comes with two key components: a lithium-ion battery and a belt alternator starter. Upto 12 kW of power can be recovered during braking and fed back into the battery. The MHEV technology facilitates long coasting phases with the engine turned off and a start-stop range that begins at 22 km/h.

Interiors

The most notable characteristic of the interior is the top MMI touch response display with easy-to-understand symbols. All the elements of the display are easily understandable and refer logically to one another, from the flat air vent strip to the wide console on the center tunnel which sports the tiptronic selector lever. The optional contour light highlights the distinctive design of the interior and serves as backlight for the three-dimensionally lasered quattro badge above the glove compartment, highlighting Audi’s love of detail. While the four-zone automatic air conditioning is a standard feature, customized contour seats with massage function and ventilation or the air quality package are available as options.

Controls and displays
Thanks to the MMI touch response operating concept in the Q8, it is possible to access almost all functions through two large displays. The infotainment and the navigation system can be controlled through the upper 10.1-inch display while the 8.6-inch display can be used for accessing the heating and air conditioning, convenience functions and text input. A tactile and acoustic click confirms activation of each function thus making operation of the controls easy. The natural language voice controls are another bonus with voice control having the ability to understand sentences like “I am hungry” to come up with suggestions for restaurants nearby.

The Audi virtual cockpit displays all the instruments and motorists can switch between two views on the high-resolution 12.3-inch display through the multifunction steering wheel. The optional plus version includes a third, particularly sporty view. The head-up display also projects important information onto the windshield, including detailed lane guidance for navigation.

After officially launching its Borgward BX7 and BX5 in the Middle East, Germany carmaker Borgward launched its showroom in Dubai. The showroom was launched in collaboration with its exclusive distributor in the UAE, Union Motors. Borgward also opened the Middle East Parts Center, a central warehouse, at the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), in order to solidify its presence in the region and increase its market share, to cater to the growing demand for its spare parts and services in the GCC market. The warehouse will cover over 16,000 square meters and will help to fulfill regional demand and cut down the time needed for delivery of parts.

Borgward’s launch of two of its most popular models in the UAE aligns well with its plans for strategic expansion in key individual markets which offer potential for business growth. The establishment of the Middle East Parts Center in JAFZA offers the twin benefits of superior geographical position and easy transportation. The warehouse has partnered with MaxX Logistics, a subsidiary of Almajdouie Group and Sinotrans Co., LTD., which is based in JAFZA for project logistics, road transport, storage and transportation, door to door delivery, and other value-added services. Another notable feature of the warehouse is that it has integrated a WMS inventory management system for day-to-day warehousing functions and for scanning the code of the goods through the handheld terminal for effective system query inventory, electronic ordering and outbound delivery.

This makes operations, sales and service a lot smoother and more competitive from the perspective of local dealers’ operation. The quick availability of spare parts from the warehouse will shorten the supply cycle of spare parts and thus enhance the level of customer satisfaction.

Borgward’s new Middle East Parts Center in Dubai has been strategically planned to effectively cater to the regional demand. It is expected that over the next few years, the distribution area of the Center will expand to cover Middle East & Africa countries and the range of products that are available will grow to include 30,000 spare parts spread over 25,000 square meters. Shipping time for parts will come down to 2-5 days from placing the order to delivery of the product.

Tom Anliker, Senior Vice President of Borgward group AG, said that Borgward had made its entry to the GCC on the basis of the strong demand in the GCC prompted by the high customer demand for compact and mid-size SUVs in the region. He said the establishment of the central warehouse in Dubai’s JAFZA reflected Borgward’s commitment to delivering outstanding service to its customers and highlights its efforts to become a trusted service partner. The establishment of the warehouse complements Borgward’s entry into the GCC market and will support the company’s expansion plans in the GCC.

Borgward has rolled out several promotional offers in connection with the opening of the showroom, including lifetime unlimited KM warranty and two years 50 per cent buyback promise for the first batch of customers. The first set of buyers will also receive the latest iPhones free with their vehicles.

Borgward officially entered the GCC retail car market with the launch of the Middle East variants of the premier BX5 and BX7 SUV models in November 2017. With strong backing from MaxX in the GCC region for warehousing and logistics capabilities, Borgward customers are assured of timely delivery of spare parts, and this will significantly contribute to the German automaker’s overall sales and market presence in the region.

Honda Motor Co. Africa and Middle East Office recently launched the All-New 5th Generation CR-V at the Waldorf Astoria in Ras Al Khaimah. The new Honda-CRV is notable for its bold new styling, a more luxurious interior and several new technologies and features that will further strengthen the CR-V’s status as the trendsetter in the compact SUV segment.

The new CR-V offers the highest level of driving comfort with its ride comfort, steering precision, cabin quietness and body control. The New CR-V is available in four grades; DX and LX in 2 Wheel Drive (2WD) and EX and Touring in All Wheel Drive (AWD).

New Powertrain and Chassis Technology:
The 2017 CR-V is powered by a 2.4-litre DOHC, direct injected i-VTEC engine that is paired with a smooth shifting and sporty continuously variable transmission (CVT) having Honda G-Shift control logic. The 2.4-liter engine has an output of 184 hp @ 6400rpm and a torque of 244NM @ 3900rpm. Fuel consumption is 15.5km/L for the DX and LX grades and 14.7km/L for the EX and Touring grades.

The body and chassis design has been refined with driver comfort in mind with better drive refinement, more flexible handling, and better overall versatility. The vehicle’s front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link suspension have specially tuned low-friction dampers, in the case of both the FWD and AWD models as well as tubular front and solid rear stabilizer bars for quicker turns and flatter cornering. Dual-pinion, variable ratio Electric Power Steering (EPS) also contributes to the CR-V’s direct and satisfying steering feel.

Bold and Sophisticated Exterior Styling:
The CR-V now looks bolder and more sophisticated with aggressively styled headlights which are surrounded by wing-shaped LED Day Time Running Light (DRL) array on all grades. The touring model has signature Honda LED headlights. The vehicle has a more aggressive stance owing to elements like longer wheelbase, short rear overhand and its wide, muscular fenders with athletic wheel arches. The CRV is a vehicle that is compatible with any lifestyle.

The distinct LED taillights and option to choose wheels in 17 inches (DX and LX grades) and 18 inches (EX and Touring Grades) will make the SUV more noticeable. The Power Programmable Tailgate, which can be opened and closed just by touching a button is a bonus for long, adventurous trips. The Touring variant has a tailgate height-adjustability feature which can be customized for drivers of all heights. Other features which are available as standard include rear fog lights, power door mirrors, headlight off timer for the forgetful types, side mirror LED indicators, various chrome garnishes and auto rain sensing wipers (Touring only).

Premium, Spacious and Technologically Advanced Interior Styling:
The cockpit and interiors of the new CR-V has been completely redesigned to lend the SUV a more premium feel. The cabin is more spacious and offers the best rear seat legroom in its class. With respect to the materials used for the interior, they have all been upgraded, with the seats having more intricate stitching and a new soft-touch instrument panel. A color TFT driver information interface (DII) center meter display adds a touch of class.

Thanks to the 60/40 split rear seat design and Easy Fold Down seats, there is plenty of space for passengers and for cargo of different shapes and sizes.

On the technological front, the CR-V has the latest vehicle connectivity and audio performance features. While the DX and LX grades have a 5-inch Color Screen Audio, the EX and Touring grades come with a 7-inch touch screen Display Audio interface using Android operating system. To make things easier, it has a physical volume knob and Navigation system. Customers can seamlessly continue using their smartphone features and functions like GPS navigation and voice controlled search capabilities while in the car as the 7-inch touch screen Display Audio is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto platforms.

The dashboard has a clean and compact design to place key information like average fuel consumption, turn-by-turn navigation and AWD torque identification directly in the line of sight. The Driver Attention Monitor detects driver fatigue and alerts the motorist through a series of visual and audio cues that he needs to focus more on the road.

Sticking to your lane is easier with the Honda LANEWATCH feature in EX and Touring grades. This technology uses a camera that is installed in the passenger door mirror to give motorists a clear image of the lanes and any vehicles that are on the lane on the 7-inch Display Audio screen. The Multi Angle Rearview Camera with dynamic guidelines shows steering input direction, to make parking quick and easy.

Some of the key features that make the new CR-V comfortable and convenient include rear A/C ducts in all grades, a smart entry and remote engine start (for LX, EX and Touring grades only), front USB ports, rear 2.5A USB charging ports, Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror (EX and Touring only), single zone air conditioning in DX and dual-zone climate controls in the remaining grades, Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Brake Hold function, and front passenger seat with 4-way power adjustment and driver’s seat with 8-way power adjustment and 4-way power lumbar support.

Advanced Safety:
Both when it comes to the body and the features, the all-new 2017 CR-V features the best. It uses Honda’s next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure and has earned the highest available collision safety ratings, including an NCAP 5-star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The conventional vacuum Brake Booster has been replaced by the Electronic Brake Booster (EBB). The motor of the EBB controlled by a microprocessor that keeps a close watch on the vehicle speed as well as the braking pressure applied by the driver, and helps build higher hydraulic pressure more quickly and with less pedal effort in all kinds of braking scenarios.

Other active safety features that are normally seen in Honda models like Electronic Brake Distributor (EBD), Tire Pressure Monitor System(TPMS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control Systems (TCS), Anti-Lock Brake Systems (ABS), Agile Handling Assist, Brake Over Ride System and Hill Start Assist (HSA) are available in the new CRV. The LX, EX and Touring trims have rear parking sensors.

Color Availability:
The All New CR-V comes with two options for the interior colors- ivory and black. When it comes to the exterior, it is available in nine different shades including Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, White Diamond Pearl, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Modern Silver Metallic, Sandstorm Metallic, Basque Red Pearl, Gun Metal Metallic and Dark Olive Metallic.
